Resource Available on Providing Spiritual Support to People with Serious Illnesses

September 24, 2007

Duke Institute on Care at the End of Life has partnered with Caring Connections, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, on a new brochure—Offering Spiritual Support for Family or Friends.  This new four-page brochure provides information and suggestions for those providing spiritual support to loved ones facing serious illnesses.

People who are very ill often ask spiritual questions in seeing comfort, meaning and hope.  While clergy chaplains and other spiritual leaders may play an important role in spiritual care, family and friends can offer important spiritual support too.
