NHPCO’s 8^th Clinical Team Conference, Scientific Symposium and Facility-Based Hospice Forum: Purpose, Passion, Performance

The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s 8^th Clinical Team Conference, Scientific Symposium and Facility-Based Hospice Forum will focus on access to and quality in all aspects of care that is provided to patients and families at the end of life. Extensive and intensive educational sessions will cover a wide variety of topics, providing the opportunity for attendees to:

• Identify, develop and enhance best practices in advanced pain and symptom management
• Strengthen competencies related to physical, psychosocial, spiritual and bereavement aspects of clinical care at the end of life
• Integrate “best practices” in interdisciplinary care
• Improve skills and abilities in providing comprehensive quality and effective hospice and palliative care for patients, families and communities
• Review current research and the application of outcomes to hospice and palliative care
• Improve access, care and outcomes of hospice and palliative care provided in diverse settings and to diverse populations
• Define the key components of quality in end-of-life care
• Strengthen networking among hospice professionals
